The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley is savory in the glass, with a brooding mix of crushed blackberries, pencil shavings and ashen stone. It’s silken in feel with polished red and black fruits, all guided by a core of juicy acidity. Founded in 1983, L’Ecole No 41 takes its name from the historic schoolhouse in which the Walla Walla Valley winery is based—“L’Ecole” means “the school” in French. This 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Washington’s broad Columbia Valley appellation, a region encompassing many of the state’s principal winegrowing areas.
