Review Date: 01/2026Benoît first produced this cuvée in 2022, when he was able to source fruit from all three villages. As he puts it, “a true Corton-Charlemagne.” This is a sharply defined, lemon-driven wine with roaring minerality and tightly wound intensity that stretches across the mid-palate. Compact, high-toned, and electric, it has all the components for long-term aging and simply needs several years to fully harmonize. Even in its first three vintages, the wine clearly demonstrates Benoît’s impressive command of this “satellite” Grand Cru.

Three barrels, one from each village. This has not fallen clear. A leaner, more mineral nose. Lemon and lime on the palate, then quite concentrated apples, a strong mineral thread throughout, and a persistent finish. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted Oct 2025.

The 2024 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from the top of the incline from three plots in Ladoix, Aloxe and Pernand - one barrel per plot with no new wood. This has a fragrant bouquet with yellow flowers and light chalky aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry, quite linear with orange pith and a subtle apricot note towards the finish. I would just like more substance and grip on the finish considering the Grand Cru in question.(NM)
