Beginning with a firm, dusty nose with gobs of fresh, ripe fruit, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Dubrul Vineyard is juicy and hedonistic in the glass, offering seductive floral and oak aromas. Full-bodied and generously layered, the wine shows a kiss of volatility on the palate, which is in step with its weight and structure, giving way to firm, fine-grained and youthful tannins that grip the gumline. This Cabernet evolves in the mouth for moments on the finish, leaving behind persistent flavors of blackberry skin, black cherry reduction and dusty plums. Just under 1,900 bottles were made and will benefit from additional cellar aging. Give it a few more years before opening and enjoy until the middle of the next decade. (AM)
