Review Date: 12/2011My favorite in the lineup was the 2008 Radio-Coteau Syrah Dusty Lane. From a cool, coastal site in the Russian River Valley, it possesses a brilliant purple color to go with vibrant, energetic aromatics of violets, raspberries, and pepper that literally soar from the glass. This gives way to a brilliantly detailed, pure Syrah that has a medium to full-bodied, textured mid-palate, firm underlying structure, and loads of concentration and length.

The 2008 Syrah Dusty Lane is big, rich and powerful. Black cherries, grilled herbs, spices and leather are some of the notes that come to life in the glass. The 2008 is a rich, deep wine, yet it possesses considerable muscle and structure as well. It is an exciting, thrilling wine with at least a handful of years of fine drinking ahead of it. This was a very late harvest; the fruit wasn't brought in until late October and early November. (AG)
