2003 Kuleto Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
VN
Vinous
Review Date: 01/2007Good bright ruby-red. Aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and bitter chocolate.Supple and sweet, with a generous texture and a cedary oak component to the flavors of spicy berries, graphite, minerals and chocolate. Finishes lush and smooth, with ripe but serious tannins. Nicely suave, juicy cabernet. (ST)

Notes
Kuleto Estate was founded by culinary entrepreneur Pat Kuleto, who purchased 761 acres of rugged mountain terrain in eastern Napa Valley in 1992, overlooking Lake Hennessey and the towns of Rutherford and St. Helena. Planting began in 1993 across a series of micro-blocks between 800 and 1,450 feet elevation, with a 17,000-square-foot gravity-flow winery completed in 2001, and the estate's 100-plus individually farmed micro-blocks divided by topography and soil structure to vinify each lot separately.
