Jones Family Vineyards was established in 1996 by Rick Jones and his daughters Heather and Stephanie, following Rick's purchase of their Calistoga estate in 1993 after a career as a grocery retail executive in San Francisco. The estate sits mid-slope on Howell Mountain at 700 feet elevation, above the valley fog and below the frost line, on hillside soils that the family has farmed for Cabernet Sauvignon since discovering the quality of the site's fruit. The vineyard is currently managed by Stephanie Jones, with the surrounding 100 acres of wildland preserved as a native ecosystem alongside the vines.
