Dark ruby-red. Captivating, nuanced nose combines black raspberry, black olive, tobacco and hot rocks. Very suave, rich and minerally, with a slightly roasted quality that may be from some dehydrated grapes. Finishes with serious tannins and lingering flavors of purple fruit, menthol and licorice. In spite of some very ripe notes, this wine conveys a juicy quality that should give it plenty of early appeal. (ST)
