Palmaz Vineyards stands on the historic Cedar Knoll property, first established in 1881 by Napa wine pioneer Henry Hagen, whose wines were once served at the San Francisco Opera House and honored at the 1889 Paris World’s Fair. After Prohibition, the estate fell dormant until Julio and Amalia Palmaz purchased and restored it in the late 1990s, reviving its wine-making legacy. Today, the family operates a gravity-flow winery built into Mount George, featuring a 100,000-square-foot, 18-story wine cave used for gentle, pump-free production. The estate spans roughly 600 acres, with about 64 acres of vineyards, producing Cabernet Sauvignon and other varietals using sustainable practices.
