2025 Château Vannières Bandol Rosé
Review Date: 04/2026
While Bandol often evokes the image of a deeper and more fruited rosé for people, this one is absolutely a pretty and elegant little darling. Pretty pale salmon pink in the glass, there's just a teeny touch of tropical on the nose, but that gives way to raspberry and white peach, it's just really pretty without ever being too much and still having a lot of elegance. The palate is crisp and really lovely, with just perfect acidity pushing through the whole thing, there's more raspberry, strawberry, cherry candy, and lemon oleo saccharum. This is such an easy bottle of wine to love.

Notes
Château Vannières is a hillside estate in Bandol, protected by the Sainte-Baume mountains and rooted in limestone and marl soils. Founded in 1957 by Lucien Boudot and now run by his grandson Éric Boisseaux, the winery blends tradition with modern techniques to highlight the character of its terroir. Their Bandol Rosé is built mainly from Mourvèdre (60%), which is partially made using the saignée method to give the wine more body and light structure. Grenache (20%) adds soft fruit, while gently pressed Cinsault (20%) keeps the wine fresh and aromatic. The result is a rosé with more depth and texture than most—still refreshing, but with enough weight and complexity to pair well with food and even improve over time.
