2022 Domaine Joseph Roty Bourgogne Côte d'Or Cuvée Pressoniers

Subtle but not invisible wood can be found on the expressive nose that is also liqueur-like in its aromas though here it's more plum and cassis in character. The slightly finer and impressively voluminous flavors possess better mid-palate density before terminating in a firm, balanced and more structured finale. This is a fine Bourgogne and worth considering.

The 2022 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pressonier, named after the lieu-dit, was showing a little sur-maturité on the nose, with just a touch of prune. The palate is medium-bodied with a lot of sucrosity on the entry, firm tannins and a little firmness toward the finish. (NM)

Notes

Domaine Joseph Roty draws on old-vine parcels across Gevrey-Chambertin for its Bourgogne “Cuvée Pressonnier,” reflecting a serious, site-driven approach even at the regional level. The area’s limestone-rich soils and cool continental climate lend structure and a firm mineral backbone. In Roty’s hands, the wine emphasizes depth, precision, and a clear expression of its Burgundian terroir.
