2016 Il Palazzotto "Sörì Cristina" Dolcetto du Diano d'Alba
Notes
Il Palazzotto’s story unfolds on the sun-drenched hills of Diano d’Alba, where the Olivero family has cultivated vines since the late 19th century. Founded when Carlo built the estate and cellar in 1888, the property’s stone-and-brick underground rooms provided naturally stable conditions ideal for vinification and aging. Four generations later, the winery remains firmly rooted in the historic village center, producing classic Langa wines from five hectares of vines. A modern chapter began in 1995, when Paolo Olivero—fresh from oenology school—joined his father and expanded the cellar to support dedicated winemaking and bottling. Today, production averages around 30,000 bottles annually, with Dolcetto di Diano d’Alba as the flagship. Paolo farms sustainably. The prized Sorì Cristina and Sorì Santa Lucia bottlings are sourced from sun-favored hillside parcels.
