Review Date: 03/2025A decadent, richly fruited Pinot Noir with lovely density and a creamy core of strawberry and cherry, layered with fragrant baking spices and nuances of espresso bean. Tart, racy acidity plays off the creamy fruit beautifully, adding lift and energy. Everything builds towards a medium-to full-bodied finish that lingers with poise and polish, from Cuvaison’s estate, Tai Vineyard in Los Carneros, aged 16 months in French oak barrels (50% new). (JC)

Lots of baking spices, chocolate, and sweet red and black fruits emerge from the 2022 Pinot Noir Spire, a richer, medium-bodied Pinot Noir that holds it together and is incredibly satisfying.

A barrel selection, Cuvaison's 2022 Pinot Noir Spire features black cherries, modest floral nuances and hints of cedar and cola. It's medium to full-bodied, plump, rounded and corpulent, with a silky-textured long finish tinged with citrus and dried spices. Next to the winery's 90.1 bottling, it's a marked contrast in style, being darker-fruited and weighing in almost a full 1% higher in alcohol. (JC)
