The fruit comes from the Pernand side. Five barrels! Riches! A clear pale lemon and lime. Good intensity here, nicely done. Significant build in intensity, a wave of much stronger white fruit, flesh on the bones and stones, with considerable length. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted Oct 2025.

The 204 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from the Pernand-Vergelesses side of the appellation. This has commendable precision on the nose: yellow plum, freshly squeezed lime, crushed stone blossoming in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh, with very fine weight and density, a silver thread of acidity maintaining focus and a palpable sense of energy. Very persistent in the mouth, this is an energetic and captivating Corton-Charlemagne, perhaps the standout among their 2024s.(NM)

Powerful and structured, the Corton-Charlemagne is delicious and almost imposing; it comes as almost a shock after the citrusy mineral notes of the wines from Puligny, but it has an undeniable beauty of its own, with its ripe quince and apricot fruit, hints of hazelnut, smoke and spice. The texture is dense but not heavy, and the finish is very long. The grapes are from the village of Pernand and come from an exchange of must with friends, but the ferment is done in-house and represents their charmingly reductive style.(CC)
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Opposite Restaurant Le Charlemagne – ‘Always from the Pernand side’ Hmm – that’s so large – lots of fresh citrus fruit and citrus skin complexity. So cool and complex – chiselled wine. Not the generosity of the last two – a wine to cut yourself on – I love it – bravo !!"(01/2026)
