Creamy and ripe, with aromas of quince and apricot and a creamy, dense texture, Alvina Pernot’s Caillerets is eminently successful, if lacking the spark of some of the top premiers crus; it almost resembles more a wine from Chassagne than Puligny with its soft floral cast. Despite this qualification, the wine has all the substance, balance, and depth to age successfully for 20 years. As before, this wine is produced by an exchange of must with another grower.(CC)
