Decanter
Reviewed January 2026Creamy and ripe, with aromas of quince and apricot and a creamy, dense texture, Alvina Pernot’s Caillerets is eminently successful, if lacking the spark of some of the top premiers crus; it almost resembles more a wine from Chassagne than Puligny with its soft floral cast. Despite this qualification, the wine has all the substance, balance, and depth to age successfully for 20 years. As before, this wine is produced by an exchange of must with another grower. (CC)

Vinous
The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a complex nose with green apple, white chalk and flinty scents emerging from the glass. There is just a very subtle reduction here. The palate is tensile from the start with citrus lemon, blood orange and a sharp line of acidity with a very persistent finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent. (NM)

Jasper Morris
These grapes are picked at the same time as the vineyard owner does, but the juice is settled slightly clearer. A light peachiness. Caillerets shows its stones with a lemon tint, overpowering the peaches. Middleweight and concentration but with length.
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Exchanges of must for this and the Charlemagne. A slightly larger scale of aroma with tiny sweetness to this fruit/floral mix – that’s lovely! Silky, supple, an extra generosity. That’s a great Caillerets this year…" (01/2026)
