Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2023 G.B. Crane Vineyard George Red Wine is a blend of 50% Old Vine Zinfandel and 50% Petite Sirah. It needs a fair bit of shaking to wake up notes of plum preserves, baked blackberries, and stewed black cherries, plus hints of garrigue, Indian spices, and dusty soil. The concentrated, full-bodied palate is rich and opulent, delivering a plush texture and bags of freshness, finishing on a lingering anise note.
