Spoiled Dog Winery was founded in 2003 by Jack and Karen Krug on Whidbey Island, where the cool maritime climate supports their focus on estate-grown Pinot Noir. Karen Krug selected a diverse range of Pinot Noir clones to suit the island’s microclimate, farming sustainably on their Maxwelton Valley site. Still-wine production anchors the portfolio, with Pinot Noir at the center and additional fruit sourced from top Washington and Oregon vineyards, including biodynamic grapes from Momtazi Vineyard. A second generation joined the winery in 2015, expanding roles in winemaking, vineyard care, and operations while maintaining the boutique scale and estate-driven identity that define Spoiled Dog’s limited-production wines.
