Review Date: 12/1995The 1992 Nightingale is Beringer's Sauternes look-alike. A blend of 50% botrytised Semillon and 50% Sauvignon Blanc (barrel-fermented and aged in 100% new oak), it is a superb, beautifully pure wine designed to compete with Bordeaux's sweetest wines. It should last for 10-15 years. Beringer has once again proven that they are one of the qualitative leaders in California as they continue to turn out reference point wines - not only for California, but the world. (RP)

Notes
Beringer Nightingale is a beautifully crafted dessert wine from Napa Valley, honoring the legacy of winemaker Myron Nightingale. Made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, it undergoes a botrytisation process, modeled after classic noble rot dessert wines of Bordeaux.
