From 1.5-hectares of southwest-facing vines on a relatively steep slope, the 2023 Saint-Véran En Faux has a crisp, well-defined nose with a light reduction. The palate is tensile with a light peppery opening and moderate depth, again lightly spiced with grapefruit and dried mango towards the finish. Harmonious with an appealing texture, this is a worthy follow-up to the 2022.(NM)

This is aromatically similar to the straight cuvée of St. Véran but with the addition of more citrus elements plus a hint of wood. The delicious and vibrant flavors are not particularly dense but they do offer an appealing mouthfeel as well as a subtle bead of minerality on the sneaky long finish that could also use better depth.
