2025 Pax "Cuvée Syrah" California Syrah

The nose on this new release is very, very pretty and full of violet pastille and boysenberry scents. On the palate, red cassis, with upper palate chalk and light minerals. It's really just a lovely wine at a pretty exceptional price. I would like to see where it goes in a couple of years. I had wonderful experiences with their vineyard designated Syrah's starting from the mid-1990's. They would age for decades!

Declassified from his single vineyard bottlings but made using the same artisanal methods. Lots of whole-cluster, neutral oak, and short elevage.
