This has captivating aromas of scented wood, orange rind, saffron, curry and toffee with a leatherlike, volatile note. The palate is long and refined, showing remarkable linearity that carries through the dried fruit and sweetness, lending precision and depth. Truly exceptional. (JGA)

The 1986 Terrantez, bottled in 2025, was produced with grapes from Estreito da Calheta that matured in oak cask at room temperature for almost 40 years. It comes in at 20% alcohol, with a pH of 3.4, 9.5 grams of acidity (1.4 grams of volatile acidity) and 88 grams of residual sugar. It has some notes of iodine, varnish and nuts, with evolution and is more oxidative, with notes of spices, dark chocolate and exotic woods and a very spicy finish. (LG)

Cossart Gordon & Co. was established in 1745 and is the oldest company in the Madeira Wine trade. The family joined the Madeira Wine Company in 1958 and to this day, Cossart Gordon Madeiras are considered the most classic available.The 1976 Sercial was bottled in 2025 in a limited editon of only 744 bottles. The wine is 20% alcohol by volume, with 9.5 g/L of total acidity, a pH of 3.4 and 88 g/L of residual sugar.
