Review Date: 01/2025Fresh ruby colour. The bouquet is attractive, floral, lighter than the Lavaut-St-Jacques. There is an attractive light but fine red fruit across the palate, with more tensile strength than one would expect given the lighter concentration of fruit. Nicely put together in an understated fashion. Drink from 2031-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.

Impressively forward with its cherry pie filling nose, this has floral lift and ample acidic vibrance, too. There are youthful, firm tannins to offer a touch of crunch, too. Immediately enjoyable with the 30% whole cluster really helping this sing despite its immense, layered complexity, this could nonetheless use an easy six to seven years in the cellar.

The 2023 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, matured in around 70% new oak, has a well-defined bouquet of brambly red berry fruit, tobacco and light licorice scents. It is very focused and gains intensity with aeration. Fresh and vibrant, the medium-bodied palate is smooth in texture with pliant tannins and a judicious touch of black pepper on the finish. Very classy.(NM)

Note: from a .52 ha parcel in En La Chapelle. Once again a deft application of wood envelops pretty and layered aromas of violet, black cherry and crushed anise. There is good if not exceptional volume to the caressing and rounded medium weight flavors that conclude in a compact, moderately austere and clearly built-to-age finale where a touch of bitter bit fruit character eventually surfaces.
