Montepulciano d’Abruzzo takes its name from the Montepulciano grape and Abruzzo, the central Italian region between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. Donvitantonio’s 2022 belongs to this regional red-wine tradition—not to be confused with Tuscany’s Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a Sangiovese-based wine named for its town.
