The Vieilles Vignes always has a bit more depth, power and richly structured fruit with the first note of oak found in any of the Chateau Vitallis offeirngs. Stone and orchard fruit notes are ever-present here with spice notes buffered by racy acidity and vibrant fruit flavors.

Of the entire collection of the Vitallis Pouilly-Fuisse, I found this one to be the most rich and round. It is yellow orchard fruit dominant (apple and pear) with some light spice and juicy peach flavors. A very affordable alternative to Puligny-Montrachet or Chassagne-Montrachet!

The 2024 Château Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes is sourced from the domaine’s oldest vines that are rooted in clay-limestone soils. Some vines are 85 years old! The wine fermented naturally with ambient yeasts and aged in barrel on its lees for a year. The wine vividly radiates peach, ripe pear, a hint of fresh ginger, crushed stones, and soft spice notes. Refreshing touches of peach and lemon linger on the palate. Lovely!
