Notes
Established over half a century ago, Fournier is a revered winery in Sancerre that has significantly contributed to the region's winemaking reputation. The winery expanded its operations to the neighbouring appellation of Menetou-Salon, recognizing the potential for producing similarly distinct and high-quality wines due to the shared terroir. In both locations, Fournier remains steadfast in their commitment to showcase the inherent character of their vineyards. They employ meticulous viticulture practices and modern winemaking techniques to create wines that perfectly express the unique qualities of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grown in these areas. The "Cotes de Morogues" is from the domaine's parcels around the village of Morogues, known for its Terres Blanches and clay based soils. All vineyards are south and south-east facing slopes and all vinification is in temperature controlled tanks. The result is a pristine Sauvignon Blanc that describes the terroir of the region in every sip. A great alternate choice to nearby Sancerre.
