2022 La Ca' Növa Barbaresco

The 2022 Barbaresco Normale from the Rocca family’s lovely La Ca’Növa estate is a beautifully classic example of Barbaresco, hailing from limestone-rich soils, fermented with native yeasts, given a thirty day maceration period and raised in classic botti prior to bottling. The wine shows the style of the 2022 vintage, coming in at 14.5 percent octane and delivering a very deep, pure and complex bouquet of red and black cherries, anise, woodsmoke, a lovely base of chalky soil, rose petals and a touch of red curry in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a gorgeous core of fruit, tangy acids, chewy, well-integrated tannins and superb length and grip on the precise and very nicely balanced finish.
