Pure, focused aromas of roasted cherry, cassis, flowers, and black pepper erupt from the glass on the nose of this Cabernet. The palate feels seamless and sumptuous, with layers of juicy acid balancing polished tannin and flavors of concentrated blueberry, cherry coulis, chocolate, caramel, and violets that resonate all through the finish. This is an absolute banger at this price point. *Editors' Choice* (TRC)

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Caton Vineyard is a blend of three blocks. It has a richer floral profile, with pretty aromas of wildflowers, mossy earth, and blackberry fruit shining through. Full-bodied, it’s supple and ripe on the palate, with a juicy feel and a clean, silky finish. It’s a highly charming wine to drink now or over the coming 6-8 years.

Aromas of sweet, plush red and black fruit along with signature minerality from this volcanic mountain. Freshness and brooding minerality at the same time on the palate. Interesting combination of density and lift. A full-bodied, powerful wine. Drink or hold.

Notes

The adventure began when Ty Caton suggested to his parents he partner with them to develop their 108-acre property in the renowned Mayacamas Mountain Range. Adjacent to world-class vineyards, the property boasts diverse soils, elevations, and sun exposures ideal for grape growing. The area eventually earned its own prestigious appellation: the Moon Mountain District. While still selling grapes to select labels, the winery now focuses on its own production. The winery annually produces just under 10,000 cases, including small-batch Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Malbec.
