Like the Bonnes Mares, Les Amoureuses has two thirds whole bunch vinification and one third new wood. Pretty pink purple colour of medium intensity, with the whole bunch component singing. Juicy dainty, intense, welcoming, sweet cherries and raspberries, I didn't want to spit this but at 9 in the morning I resisted! Exceptional and glorious length. *Five Star*

An exuberantly floral-suffused nose reflects a plenitude of spice nuances on the airy and elegant aromas of red cherry, lavender, rose petal and exotic tea scents. The gorgeously textured middle weight flavors possess superb delineation and an almost pungent minerality that adds lift to the crunchy, classy and hugely long finish. This is seriously good, indeed the word brilliant comes to mind, and a wine that should also age effortlessly. *Outstanding*

With its aromas and flavours of wild strawberry, pomegranate and aromatic kitchen spices, this is a fine, detailed, beautifully judged Les Amoureuses from Christophe Roumier and his team. Made with 60% whole bunches an 20% new wood, it's racy and fresh, with fine tannins and tangy, pink grapefruit acidity. Spicy, elegant and serene. (TA)

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is very perfumed on the nose with greater fruit intensity than Mugnier's Amoureuses, whilst maintaining satisfying delineation. This unfurls wonderfully in the glass, certainly one of the more opulent Amoureuses. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, quite layered and grippy, bold in terms of structure with a heady, slightly alcoholic finish. This is a broad-shouldered Les Amoureuses, one difficult to broach now at this premature juncture. A slight coca note on the finish just blunts its edge and denies it a higher score. (NM)
