The caressing and markedly finer medium-bodied flavors possess reasonably good density for young vines while delivering solid depth and length on the more structured finale. The 2022 Beaune Les Vignes Franches 1er Cru has a very winsome bouquet with vivacious red berry fruit, blood orange, fennel and a touch of lavender. Complex and involving. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit on the entry, slightly chalky tannins, and fine acidity. Perhaps, like the Pommard, it needs a bit of finesse toward the finish. Otherwise, this should age well over the following decade.(NM)
