One of the best Sauvignon Blancs in the world, the 2023 Château Couhins Blanc is based on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sauvignon Gris and was aged eight months in 25% new French oak with the balance in neutral barrels and tank. Its medium gold hue is followed by a killer perfume of mineral-laced citrus, honeyed orange, crushed stone, and mint, with an almost Riesling-like minerality and very subtle diesel character. Medium-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it has bright, racy acidity and a great finish. This château needs way more attention in the market, and this beauty will keep for two decades.
