Reviewed January 2025A vivid ruby purple. The nose is stricter but still joyous. No sign of dilution but a gorgeous intensity of perfectly ripe fruit, good acidity and a lovely finale. Still on a roll!

Note: from Les Crais Gillon, Clos Solon, En Seuvrey and Corvée Creunille. High-toned aromas of the essence of red currant are cut with subtle floral and spice wisps, in particular anise. The punchy medium-bodied flavors possess a beguiling mouthfeel along with more power, if less evident minerality, on the balanced, sneaky long and slightly more complex finale. Lovely and worth a look. *Outstanding!*

The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Village doesn't have the complexity of the Chambolle-Musigny Village on the nose. This is a little straight and lacks the same amplitude. The palate is better, with a grippy entry, more black than red fruit and fine acidity, but it's just a little tough on the finish at the moment. (NM)
