Note: from Champerrier Bas plus parcels in En Songe and Vignes Belles. This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction and here it's enough to overshadow the fruit. By contrast, there is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the supple, delicious and caressing medium weight flavors that possess fine length on the youthfully austere finale. This could however use better depth so a few years of proper cellaring are advised. *Outstanding!*

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has the best bouquet amongst the Domaine's Village Crus. There is good complexity, with redcurrant, blackberry and touches of crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with a concentrated entry, displaying sweet black cherries, boysenberry and a touch of orange zest. Notably high-toned in style, there is a soupçon of hedonism here, but it just about pulls it off. (NM)
