Reviewed July 2023This bold and structured champagne has plenty of mature character, but also a lovely lemony freshness and lively mousse that gives it good drive at the crisp finish. A cuvee of 55% chardonnay and 45% pinot noir that was aged for seven years.

Vinous
The NV Brut Quiconce Grand Cru blends 55% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 45% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, spending seven years on lees. The nose is redolent with reductive smokiness, earthy wet clay and buttery sponge cake. Smooth mousse dissipates softly on the palate, underlining the bright gentleness of the Chardonnay, which elongates the palate despite its salty autolytic richness and provides a smooth finish. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. (AK)

Finding Grand Cru Champagne for a reasonable price is becoming as rare as hen’s teeth these days. The Baron-Fuenté "Quinconce" Grand Cru Brut Champagne falls squarely into the best-value category for elevated everyday sipping. It’s dry yet remarkably generous thanks to seven years of beauty sleep on its lees. Notes of golden apple, toasted brioche, Marcona almond, and candied lemon peel provide a beautiful lift and freshness to its racy, lightly textured frame. Pair with friends and a charcuterie board for a lovely evening.
Notes
This champagne is a blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir entirely sourced from the Cote des Blancs and the Montagne Reims grand crus. It is aged for seven long years on the lees.
