Reviewed December 2025 Darker currants, dark chocolate, smoked tobacco, and crushed stone intermixed with classic Howell Mountain herbal nuances all shine in the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 20 months in French oak, it's medium to full-bodied and has a pure, layered, concentrated mouthfeel with beautiful tannins, the freshness and focus of the vintage, and a great finish. This beauty will drink well for 20-25 years.

Outpost's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts knockout aromas of ripe cherries, beautifully accented by hints of stone fruit and rosemary or lavender. It's full-bodied on the palate, supple and creamy, then silky on the finish. This is darn good stuff that's nearly approachable now but built to last at least 20 years. (JC)

This is sappy and dense, with linzer torte, licorice snap, black currant reduction and ink notes that stream along with focus and energy through the succulent, tar-tinged finish. A mesquite hint peeks in at the tail end. (JM)
