Reviewed April 2026The 2024 Blanco is made from old-vine Viura planted in Ribas de Tereso, Rioja. Fennel, wild herbs and a note of soft green apple lead the nose. On the palate, it is intense, precise and fresh, with a lightly creamy texture gently shaped by soft chalky tension. The profile leans modern for the region, balancing a crisp edge with subtle creaminess and clear flavor definition. Within its category, it also offers very strong value. (JH)
Notes
Sandra Bravo, vigneron, member of the "Rioja n' Roll" group of young winemakers in Rioja, and a real up-and-coming talent, did not grow up in a vine growing or winemaking family. She studied, learned on the job, and when an opportunity arose to purchase a small bodega in Rioja Alavesa, she went for it. This white is produced from vines interspersed amongst the Tempranillo vines in a few of her Rioja Alavesa parcels. It is brisk and mineral, with a cool vintage Chablis quality to it. Highly recommended.
