2014 Azari "Corkscrew" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Notes
Azari Vineyards was established in 1988 when Kamal and Parichehr Azari purchased their Petaluma Gap property in the Sonoma Coast. The estate sits in a cool, wind-driven corridor known for long growing seasons and naturally low yields. The Azaris planted Pinot Noir and later produced estate wines that highlight the region’s fog-influenced acidity and spice. The winery also incorporates elements of the family’s Persian heritage, including its signature “Flamingo” wood-fired oven on the estate. Production focuses on small-lot Pinot Noir shaped by the Petaluma Gap’s strong maritime winds, which promote slow ripening and concentrated flavor development.
