"I was immediately smitten with this wine at first sip. In my opinion, Pinot Gris can be quite a tricky grape. Many examples of the variety can be quite boring and insipid. Other can be overly floral, rich, oily and lacking in freshness and acidity. But when a wine strikes a balance right down the middle it's just the most delicious, refreshing, quaffable wine around. Chris Baker nailed it here. This Willamette Gris has just the right amount of citrus blossom and jasmine on the nose, and is bursting with white peach, lilikoi, tangy citrus and wet stone mineral. It has soft, easy fruit on the palate, but also retains brightness and salivating acidity in the finish that pulls you back for another sip.
