Winemaker Tony Biagi's claim that Patria's 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is "the best Oakville Ranch I've ever made," seems likely to be borne out, at least based on this barrel sample. The wine is wonderfully fragrant and floral, with notes of sage accenting pristine black cherries on the nose. It's medium- to full-bodied, framed by silky, fine-grained tannins and shows terrific length on the remarkably elegant finish. It's a terrific value.
