Reviewed August 2025An extremely cool and elegant wine for this vineyard site, which can give quite round wines. Delicately pithy on the mid-palate, then the lemon character and crisp acidity kicks in. Long, very clean finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.

The 2024 Riesling Kreuznacher Kahlenberg Erste Lage, on loess and loam with some quartzite, was not hit by frost. The creaminess on the nose promises generosity, helped along by a lovely overtone of passion fruit. Everything about this is smooth and gentle, despite the slenderness and freshness. The 2024 glides along with much charm and elegance. (Bone-dry)(AK)
