2022 Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru "La Bossière"

Review Date: 01/2025Note: from a parcel of vines planted in 1988; the .45 ha vineyard is a monopole and the smallest 1er in Gevrey. Ripe and exuberantly fresh aromas of soft wood, cool and bright black cherry, earth and a whiff of the sauvage. Consistent with the nose, there is excellent verve and freshness to the more mineral-driven and finer, if less concentrated, flavors that offer fine length on the youthfully austere finale. This too could use better depth so at least a few years of aging should help. Lovely and 2022 is one of the better vintages I've seen for this wine.*Burghound Outstanding!*

Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "A cool sector – At the end of the Combe de Lavaux. Here the spice mixes with pretty red fruits – more in the direction of strawberry – it’s very attractive. Fresh, beautiful, juicy and energetic – a less structural wine than the VV but with perfumed energy too – and no less finishing persistence – that’s completely delicious."(01/2024)
