Dark exotic spice, lavender, eucalyptus and forest berry aromas form the nose on the beautiful 2021 Brunello Rosildo. On the elegantly structured, full-bodied palate, close-grained, crushed velvet tannins accompany dried cherry, red plum, licorice and orange peel. Fresh acidity keeps it lifted and bright. This is still youthfully austere so give it time to fully unwind and develop. (KO)

Displaying a medium garnet hue, the 2021 Brunello Di Montalcino Rosildo is expressive as it opens, with notes of leather, dried cherries, Mediterranean herbs, sandalwood, dried flowers, and a subtle iron-earthiness. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully composed, with fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and a lightly savory richness that carries through the finish with clarity and energy. It has a polished texture and an understated elegance that should reward a bit of patience. Drink 2026-2041.

The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Rosildo opens with a blend of crushed blueberries and cherries complemented by hints of split pine and rosemary. It is round and pure in feel, with crisp red berry fruits and medium weight. The finish has staining length, yet is only gently tannic, leaving a mineral resonance and a pleasantly chewy sensation. I'm hoping that further bottle age will bring more complexity, as I find more harmony in the house Brunello compared to the Selezione.
