The 2019 Luigi Tecce "Poliphemo" (R19) is the estate’s "cyclopean" flagship, sourced from 85-year-old vines in Paternopoli. Like the "Puro Sangue," it is now bottled as Campania Aglianico following Tecce’s departure from the DOCG. The nose is brooding and complex, layering wild blackberry, iron, and leather with notes of bitter cherry and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is dense and savory—a "surgical" expression of Aglianico that balances its massive structure with surgical precision and wild energy. The finish is exceptionally long, marked by salty volcanic minerals and deep concentration.
