Reviewed December 2025Slightly reductive at this stage, but it opens up with time, showing fresh herbs, minerals and creamy tropical fruit with a touch of guavas and green apples. Saline on the palate, with round, medium body and a textured finish. Drinkable now after a quick decanting, but better from 2026. (ZS)

The 2023 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a stern bouquet that takes time to open in the glass, light sea spray scents, quite malic but this is very well defined. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, a lovely resinous texture, plenty of extract here that is commendable for a second wine. Doubtless great value given the quality. (NM)

Creamy and gourmet, a touch of lemon but this has some creamy honeyed vanilla and butterscotch to it which, combined with the acidity, is really nice. A touch less zingy than some but this really works. Lemon, apple, peach and pineapple almost. Clean ending. (GH)

Bright citrus, honeyed mint, crushed stone, and hints of orange blossom all emerge from the 2023 L'Esprit De Chevalier Blanc, a fresh, lively white from Pessac-Léognan. Medium-bodied, bright, clean, and crisp, it has a delicious style geared for drinking over the coming 5-7 years. Drink 2026-2033.
