A tank-fermented Chardonnay, called Tank Fruit, that in 2023 comes entirely from the Maresh Estate Vineyard, and the 1991-planted Dijon clone 76 Chardonnay vines. This wine is fermented in a tank and then spends an additional 10 months there before being moved to a barrel for an additional six months. It’s coiled and electric, with aromas of citrus rind, seaspray and mint leaf. The palate shows up with similar verve, with green mangoes, chopped herbs, and juicy Meyer lemon all coming to play.

The 2023 Chardonnay Tank Fruit entices with a bouquet of lemon oil, sage-laced green apples and mint. Racy in feel, it opens with a slaty twang that invigorates the palate as ripe pit fruits swirl beneath an air of pretty inner florals. A hint of sour lime puckers the cheeks, while a saline concentration lingers through the wickedly fresh yet long finale.
