Made from Marsanne that has been partially dried on straw mats, Jean-Louis Chave's Hermitage Vin de Paille hails from a classic vintage. It often takes a few years to completely ferment due to the immense concentration. The 1990 vintage has not been professionally reviewed, but the two other vintages from the 1990s that Robert Parker reviewed garnered scores from 96-99 points and drinking windows of 50-100 years.
