The 2010 Gravner "Breg" Rosso is a monumental and unconventional red, reflecting Joško Gravner’s radical philosophy. While the "Breg" name is often associated with his now-discontinued white blend, the Rosso is a rare wine made of Pignolo. The nose is deep and earthy, featuring ripe black fruits, forest floor, and tobacco, accented by hints of lavender and dark spice. On the palate, it is dense and structured, yet possesses a crystalline mineral purity and silky tannins that mask its significant power. Unlike Gravner's whites, this does not ferment in amphora; instead, it is aged in large Slavonian oak vats for at least five years. It is an austere, elegant wine built to evolve for decades.
