Review Date: 09/2025This Carricante from age-old vineyards at 900m above sea level is a progressing wave that bursts with vitality and infinite energetic return. Hints of broom, yellow fruit and flint offer a crystalline and pure sip, enlivened by a sapid and refreshing vein. With no lack of volume and consistency, it's a highly satisfactory and pleasurable drink. (AP)

Notes
The 2021 Federico Curtaz "Kudos" Etna Bianco Superiore is a refined, single-varietal Carricante from 100-year-old vines in Milo, the only village permitted to use the "Superiore" designation. The nose is incredibly pure and floral, leading with orange blossom, ginestra (broom flower), and melon alongside savory notes of peat and lemon pulp. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied and "linear," balancing a rich, slightly creamy texture with firm, racy acidity and spicy volcanic minerality. The finish is polished and long, leaving a lingering impression of saline tones and chalky minerals. Fermented and aged for one year in large oak barrels, it combines the vertical energy of the mountain with the finesse Curtaz honed during his years with Gaja.
