The 2022 Federico Curtaz "Gamma" Etna Bianco is a vertical, high-altitude expression of 100% Carricante sourced from old, alberello-trained vines in Milo and Biancavilla. The nose is exceptionally perfumed, featuring lemon blossom, heather, and sandalwood alongside a core of green apple and stone. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and "crunchy," balancing concentrated citrus and tropical fruit with a racy, vibrant acidity. The finish is persistent and remarkably saline, characterized by flinty volcanic minerals and ash. Unlike the more robust "Kudos," the Gamma is fermented in stainless steel with nine months of lees aging and no oak, ensuring a pure, transparent, and "mountain-fresh" profile.
