2011 Glencadam 14 Year "Single Cask Nation" New Charred Oak (3.5 Years) Single Barrel #180528 Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Notes
Founded in 1825 in the Highland town of Brechin, Glencadam is known for its elegant, fruit forward style that often emphasizes honeyed malt and orchard fruit. Though cult favored among enthusiasts, it remains somewhat under the radar, making distinctive independent bottlings particularly rewarding. This delicious single cask was distilled in September 2011 and bottled in Summer 2025 after 14 years, including 3.5 years of extra maturation in a new charred oak barrel. Bottled non-chill filtered at 61.5 percent ABV, just 215 bottles were produced. The nose is bright and floral with fresh barley and sweet grain beneath a gentle thread of smoke. On the palate, pronounced oak spice emerges, bringing ginger, cinnamon and cocoa alongside ripe fruit and honeyed depth. The finish is pleasantly drying with lingering spice and subtle sweetness. A powerful Highland malt with texture and character.
