2012 Fettercairn 12 Year "Single Cask Nation" New Charred Oak (3.5 Years) Single Barrel #180488 Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Notes
Established in 1824 in the Scottish Highlands, Fettercairn is known for its distinctive cooling ring distillation system, which produces a spirit often marked by tropical fruit and mineral complexity. Its character can veer into adventurous territory, rewarding drinkers who appreciate something a little unconventional. This intriguing single cask was distilled in September 2012 and bottled in Summer 2025 after 12 years, including 3.5 years in a new charred oak barrel. Bottled non-chill filtered at 60.5 percent ABV, only 195 bottles were produced. The nose reveals ripe stone fruit layered over toasted oak and malted barley, with pastry warmth emerging over time. The palate is boldly malt driven with charred oak, roasted chestnut and savory umami notes balanced by caramelized sweetness. The finish is long and complex, carrying roasted nuts and lingering oak spice. A distinctive Highland whisky that showcases Fettercairn’s adventurous side beautifully.
