Reviewed January 2026The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru is matured entirely in second-fill barrels as the volume was so small. This is far superior to the previous vintage with much more tension, nascent energy and vibrancy. The palate is vibrant and fresh, precise with a clever reduction, tensile and it builds beautifully towards the vivid, quite intense finish. One of Colin's best cuvées this year.(NM)

Note: from Chenevottes proper. Firm reduction from the very recent bottling overshadows the fruit today. By contrast, there is superb underlying tension to the super-sleek and beautifully delineated flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the strikingly long, moderately austere and chiseled finish. This is impressive and I particularly like the balance though note well that it's definitely going to require at least mid-term cellaring. One to buy.*Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*

Pale lemon. The one wine to date in this cellar with a reductive struck match note. Simon says that this is often the case for Chenevottes. In 350-litre François Frères barrels with medium+ toast, could be a factor. Quite brisk lemon and lime acidity at the back. Interesting, complex, not quite together yet. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2025.
